Thomas M. Venino, Jr.

Tom is the oldest of the third-generation of Venino lawyers. He was admitted to practice in 1977 after attending Fordham University Law School. He concentrates his practice in wills, trusts and estate planning; business organization and corporate law; commercial and residential real estate, and landlord and tenant matters.

Tom is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey, as well as the Third Circuit United States Court of Appeals. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. Tom has practiced extensively in commercial litigation in addition to the other areas above. Tom has served on the Hudson County District Ethics Committee and the Hudson County District Fee Arbitration Committee (of which he was its Chair for two years). He has served on the Hudson County Civil Practice Committee and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Tom has served on an advisory committee to the Hudson County Court System for issues relating to facility access in connection with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Tom has lectured on such matters as practice before the Chancery Courts in New Jersey, wills and estate planning, and arbitration.

Tom has long been affiliated with Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, which is now part of the Hackensack Meridian Health System. He served for many years on its Board of Governors. He serves now on the Northern New Jersey Advisory Board to Hackensack Meridian Health and on the Hackensack Meridian Health/Palisades Medical Center Foundation.

Tom has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Palisades Emergency Residence Corporation, which operates a homeless shelter in Union City, for more than 15 years and continues to serve on that Board. He is also on the Board of Garden State Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization which develops low-income housing in Hudson County and elsewhere in northern New Jersey.

Tom was a member of Rotary International for 30 years. He was President of his local club. In Rotary district 7490, he served as Chief of Staff in 2003-2004. He served as a District Representative for 15 years. Tom was Chairman of the District Foundation; he was part of the Governor’s Selection Committee, and he served on the District PolioPlus Committee as part of the Rotary International effort to support worldwide vaccination against polio.

In his free time, Tom enjoys reading and diverse cultural activities.
